History: Middlebourne’s original library opened in a Civil War era home in 1967. After 9 years, that deteriorating structure was replaced with a new Instant Library carousel building. The library has since doubled in size with the construction of a new addition, and the Tyler County Public Library now serves 3,700 residents.
